コロナや天候不順で延び延びになっていた「九州オルレ 福岡・新宮コース」、８名による賑やかなオルレとなった。スタート地点の佐屋バス停でパンフレットをゲットし出発。最近設置された「六部様（全国の霊場に法華経を納めた行脚僧のこと）」の石碑を見て高速道脇を抜け山道に入る。土筆・ホトケノザ・ネコノメソウ・スミレなどの春の草花を見ながら、このコースの最高点である「三本松山」で立花山を眺める。ミカン畑や竹林・ミツバチの巣箱などの農道を抜け「立花山登山道」の標識を過ぎ、趣ある立花口地区の古い街並みの中を歩く。太い梁の門構えにビックリ！ツバメの巣も久しぶりに見ました。昨年、オープンした「こみんか みかん」に立ち寄る。明治３３年に建てられた古民家で、赤松の天井の造形が凄い！隣接する曹洞宗「梅岳寺」を散策し、産土神である「六所神社」でトイレ休憩。本殿裏の階段を上ると、最近奉納された社殿に出会う。さらに「天台宗 独鈷寺」を散策する。道端の白モクレン・早咲きの桜などが綺麗だ。幹線道路から山道に入り、配電鉄塔の立つ「しんぐう愛の丘」で配水タンク越にタワーマンション群・新宮市街地・相島を眺めながら昼食タイム。山から下ると、何百年も絶えることなき湧水である「太閤水」を通過し、小高い丘で「夫婦子守大明神」の赤い鳥居に出会う。池の横に出ると、以前より風景が一変していた。中学校やグランドが整備され、オルレのルートも大きく変わっていた。県道５３９号線のガードを潜り、市街地に入る。「沖田中央公園」周辺には多くのマンションや イケヤなどの大型ショッピングセンターが立ち並び、正に新都心だ。JR新宮中央駅でオルレスタンプを押し、幹線道路に出る。左手に「団地 杜の宮」、右手に「新宮町役場」を見ながら新宮海岸方面に歩く。一時、通行止めになっていた「楯の松原」へのルートが解禁され、防風林の中を歩いた。清々しい！！砂浜に設置されたオルレ標識「新宮海岸」からは眼前に玄界灘、沖には相島が望める。海岸から引き返すおり「新宮神社」に参拝し、５分でフィニッシュ地点「西鉄神宮駅」に着く。
