何時もの仲間からのリクエストに答え、真夏日のこの日、女岳・浮嶽山行を実施した。朝方は曇っていたが林道交差から山道に入るころには日差しが強くなり、合わせて無風状態の中、急登にアタックする。背振山系縦走路合流地点までで汗が噴き出した。女岳山頂は樹木の間から玄界灘方面が少し見えたが、展望は良くない。荒谷峠への急坂では落ち葉で滑りやすく、ゆっくり下る。荒谷峠から直ぐのところに浮嶽登山口の標識があったが踏み跡が少なく、ブッシュ気味だったので、舗装道を２０分ばかり登った所から山道に入る。ここからは女岳・浮嶽の三角錐の山容が一望できる。浮嶽の登山道は女岳より急登で下着まで汗びっしょりとなった。山頂からの展望は少なく期待外れだった。復路計画では当初、荒谷峠から女岳を登り返す予定だったが、余力は全くなく、峠から舗装道～林道（山道）を経由して下山することにした。舗装道／林道分岐地点では、玄界灘・姫島・糸島半島を一望できるご褒美が待っていた。登山道脇では「ススキ・ハギ・オミナエシ・フジバカマ」など、秋の七草をはじめ「ツリフネソウ・アキノゲシ・ヤマホトトギス・ゲンノショウコ」などの草花が楽しめた。 今回、下山コースに女岳の登り返しを選ばなくて良かった。「無理は禁物！！」と話し合った。
